Barbara Tversky is Professor of Psychology and Education at Columbia Teachers College and Professor Emerita of Psychology at Stanford University.  She has done basic research on memory, categorization, spatial language and thinking, event perception and cognition with applications to eyewitness testimony, cognitive maps, visualizations, HCI, diagrammatic reasoning, design, and the arts. She has enjoyed collaborations with computer scientists, linguists, philosophers, architects, artists, scientists and more. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Psychological Society, the CognitiveScience Society, and the Russell Sage Foundation, and was elected to the Society of Experimental Psychology. She has served on the governing boards of many professional organizations, on the editorialboards of many journals, and on the organizing committees of nearly 100 international interdisciplinary conferences.
